Frequently Asked Questions

What to know before your first visit

How much does a visit cost? What insurance do you take?

    • We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Sheild PPO and POS plans and Medicare. We do not accept BCBS Community Health or HMO Plans.  For all other plans, we offer a self-pay option and can provide a superbill for the patient to self-submit for out-of-network benefits.
    • Fee for service price:  $150 for an initial evaluation, and $130 for all follow-up visits

Are treatments private?

Yes, we use individual treatment rooms for your privacy and comfort, with a common gym area for activities that require more space and movement.

What is a pelvic floor assessment?

As pelvic floor specialists we are trained to evaluate tone and pain in the pelvic floor muscles. This requires an internal vaginal or rectal assessment of the musculature and ligaments. We will make this as comfortable as possible, taking into consideration each patient’s individual comfort level and personal history.

I'm on my period. Should I still attend my appointment?

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor can be done at any point of a women’s cycle.

Will I be charged if I cancel my appointment?

Our cancellation policy requires 24 hour notice in order to avoid a $40 cancellation charge.

Do I need a physician referral?

No, Illinois is a direct access state, meaning you are not required to consult a physician prior to evaluation and treatment with a physical therapist.

How long is a visit?

Each session is approximately 45 minutes long.
Please allocate an extra 15 minutes for your first session.

What type of treatment will I receive?

Physical therapy includes an evaluation of pain or functional limitations and treatment including manual therapy, joint and tissue mobilization and exercise focusing on functional movement and ergonomic alignment. Some patients may require pelvic floor assessment and treatment.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Gym or  athleisure wear and proper footware.

Can I bring my child?

Yes, you may bring your child, but please remember that we have no one to watch your child during your treatment.

What is telehealth?

Telehealth is a virtual PT session through video conferencing. The session will function similarly to an in-person session, including visual evaluation and exercise progression. This is a great option for patients who are
social distancing, not feeling well, or have a hard time getting out of the house.

What is a wellness visit?

We have designed wellness packages for the pregnant woman and new mother. These sessions are designed for women who are not having specific aches or pains but would like to make sure their body is ready for childbirth and beyond.

These sessions cannot be submitted to insurance.
